Samashraya | About Us

Samashraya is an initiative of Deepika Charitable Educational Trust which has 20 years experience in the field of education.

The purpose of Samashraya is to bridge the gap between mainstream education and home schooling and also to make education more meaningful, practical and student centric.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to give academic training parallel with Skill training so that students are ready to be employed when they finish schooling. Equip them with life skills and to develop them as a complete personality.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to see that no child is denied training or abused for want of academic learning skills.

Our Plan

Every child has potential and we plan to bring that out in the best possible way.
Samashraya will be a Learning Academy for National Open School's 10th and 12th along with Skill Training for Employment.

Why Samashraya?

There is a large gap between Mainstream Schools and Home School / NIOS.
And Samashraya aims to fill this gap.

In the current education system there are mainstream schools which are under the various state, central, and international educational boards whose core emphasis is on Academics. There are also special schools that cater to the needs of children with special needs. However this leaves a huge void, creating misery for children with specific learning disabilities. These children have the skill to compete with their peers IF taught differently and in the way they learn. Every classroom has 2 or 3 children with SLD. They can shine well if they are allowed to choose the subjects they want. They can excel in life if vocational subjects are integrated in their curriculum. They shed their reticence and become more self-confident; and in turn, also develop self-esteem when they are in a smaller group. There are children who are gifted in some sports or performing arts. They want to chase their dream with lesser academic stress. When these children are not able to sustain in the mainstream schools, they become school dropouts. To bridge this gap we have started an alternative training centre.
