Samashraya is an initiative of Deepika Charitable Educational Trust which has 25 years experience in the field of education.
The purpose of Samashraya is to bridge the gap between mainstream education and home schooling and also to make education more meaningful, practical, student centric and upskilling of teachers and parents.Our Vision
Our Vision is to provide early intervention to children diagnosed with developmental issues, so that they can be as much on par as ‘peer group’.
Our Mission
Our mission is to train children, parents and teachers so that development, learning and achievement go smoothly and favourably.
Our Plan
Every Child has potential and we plan to bring that out in the best possible way. Samashraya will be a learning academy for all levels of National institute of open schooling, Delhi
Why Samashraya?
Samashraya has an umbrella of services for children, teens and adults. We give importance to early stimulation including speech, physical and occupational therapies for children at risk of developing disabilities. Early stimulation often helps children in being accepted in mainstream schools.
We have worked tirelessly and successfully with children and teenagers having low-esteem, difficulty in socializing, difficulty in coping with school stress and so on. We also have a life skill package training for mainstream school teenagers.
Samashraya has plans to introduce need-based training for teens and adults in emotional and behaviour management both at home and school environment.

Team Samashraya is Led by Mrs. Sita Krishnamurthy
Mrs. Sita Krishnamurthy is the founder and managing trustee of Deepika Charitable Educational trust. She is a post graduate in English literature with a diploma in English language teaching and a diploma in special education. She started Deepika Resource Centre in 1998 which later became Deepika School and was adopted by Sringeri Sharadha Peetam. She has worked in the field of education for the last 36 years and out of which the last 26 years have been spent in nurturing and developing Deepika School for children with special needs. She is also the convenor for the courses run by IRC, Bangalore for training special educators. With her immense experience in mainstream schools and special school she has always felt a need for a concept school to bridge the gap in the current school system and that idea took the shape of Samashraya.
Ms Aarti C Rajaratnam
Aarti C Rajaratnam is a leading Psychologist and Author who has touched many lives through her work for over two decades. She is an intuitive, empathetic and compassionate professional. Mrs. Vandana Pancham
Mrs Vandana Pancham is a joint trustee of Deepika Charitable Educational trust. She is a learning development professional with 19 years of experience in the industry. Her technical expertise coupled with her experience in developing learning solutions is a great support to Samashraya.
Mrs. Nagarathnam Srinivasan
She's a joint trustee of Deepika Charitable Educational Trust. She is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience in industry and practice with a brief stint abroad. She is a qualified Special educator coaching students in accounting related subjects for mainstream students and also for students with learning disabilities.
Mrs. Sumathi Ramjee
An Engineering Graduate moved to the education field after working in the corporate sector. She holds a diploma in creative teaching & diploma in learning disability. She is an Art Based Therapy practitioner and trainer. Sumathi is a recipient of many awards including the Pearson NDTV best special educator award and best creative teacher award. She has 20 years of teaching experience.
